December 23, 2020 – Chestnut-hooded Laughingthrush (Ianthocincla treacheri, Pterorhinus treacheri, or Garrulax treacheri)

Found only on the island of Borneo in mountain and lowland forests and forest edges, these birds were previously considered a subspecies of the Chestnut-capped Laughingthrush. They eat insects, along with some small snails, fruit, and seeds, foraging in pairs or small groups and sometimes joining mixed-species flocks. Breeding mostly from February to April, they build shallow cup-shaped nests from roots, grass stems, tendrils, and dry leaves. Females lay clutches of two eggs.
