PaleHeadedMunia

April 5, 2017 – Pale-headed Munia (Lonchura pallida)

These estrildid finches are found in open grassy areas, including rice paddies, in parts of eastern Indonesia. Foraging in flocks, they eat grass seeds and rice, plucking the seeds from stems or picking them from the ground. Males display for females, holding a stalk while bobbing up and down. In Sulawesi they may breed throughout the year.
