March 17, 2017 – Green-backed Tit (Parus monticolus)

These tits are found in the Himalayas from northern Pakistan east to central and southern China, as well as in Myanmar, Vietnam, and Laos. They eat small invertebrates, larvae, flower buds, fruits, and seeds, often traveling in mixed-species flocks with other tits and small babblers. Females build the nests alone in tree cavities. Though they tend to breed from February to July, they may nest throughout the year in Taiwan.
