SnowPigeon

March 12, 2017 – Snow Pigeon or Tibetan Dove (Columba leuconota)

These pigeons are found in mountainous central Asia from western Afghanistan to central China. They eat berries, seeds, bulbs, roots, shoots, and grains, spending most of their time in large flocks. Frequently nesting in colonies, they construct messy platform nests from sticks, matted grass, and feathers, usually in crevices or caves in cliffs. They often reuse the same nests for multiple years, repairing them when needed.
