December 23, 2016 – Chestnut-winged Cuckoo or Red-winged Crested Cuckoo (Clamator coromandus)

These cuckoos are found in southern and eastern China and South and Southeast Asia. They eat large invertebrates, including caterpillars, beetles, ants and spiders, along with small fruits. Like many other cuckoo species, they are brood parasites. They lay their eggs mostly in the nests of various species of laughingthrushes.
