May 30, 2016 – Thick-billed Green-pigeon or Thick-billed Pigeon (Treron curvirostra)

These small green-pigeons are found throughout much of Southeast Asia and into Nepal, India, Bangladesh, and southern China. They eat fruit, especially figs, usually foraging in trees from the shrub layer to the canopy. Along with the other species in their genus, their green plumage is thought to be caused by carotenoid pigments in their diet.
