April 3, 2016 – Hooded Crow, Danish Crow, Grey Crow, Hoodie, Royston Crow, Scotch Crow (Corvus cornix)
Requested by: izzyisozaki
Found in Britain and much of central and northern Europe, these crows were previously considered to be part of the same species as Carrion Crows. They sometimes hybridize with Carrion Crows in areas where their ranges overlap, producing birds with intermediate black and grey plumage. Their omnivorous diet includes insects, mollusks, eggs, fish, berries, and carrion. Like other corvid species, they are quite intelligent and have been observed in Finland pulling in fishing lines left in holes in ice to get fish or bait and dropping shells to break them open.
