November 23, 2015 – Collared Bush Robin, Formosan Bush-robin, or Johnstone’s Bush-robin (Tarsiger johnstoniae)
These small birds are found in mixed evergreen broadleaf forests of Taiwan. They eat insects such as ants, moths, and beetles, and other invertebrates, including spiders and worms. Females build the cup-shaped nests from moss, roots, dead leaves, and other materials, incubating the eggs while the males guard the area. Both parents care for the chicks.
